My son, who has just turned 18, has been served by the DDSN Board with the same case manager since he was 4. My son will never be able to live his life without constant supervision and assistance. For more than a decade his case manager has been a very solid foundation I can rely on to answer questions, add or manage his services, and even point us in the right direction if something doesn’t fall into her arena of expertise. Here is the thing, I am a single father. I need desperately, the help provided through this board and specifically his case manager. Thank you DDSN board for treating us like people, for constantly being there even during Special Olympics; the extra effort to come visit, at times that fit into my single parent schedule, allowing email and fax communication. For being patient with us when things aren’t going so well in our very different world.
